Bore Baasi which comprises of cooked rice dipped in water, dahi or buttermilk is one of the most common meals eaten during the hot summer season. Other commonly eaten dishes include Badi and Bijori which are eaten with pickle and raw onion. Amongst the most commonly eaten pulses is The Arhar dal. Bafauri a sweet dish made from of chana dal is a favourite of the local people. The Minjhra Bedi is another dish which is quiet popular here and is prepared from Lauki, Urad Dal, Kumhda, Papita & Rakhia.

Sweets Include Bidiya, Gulgula (Bobra), Kusli, Bafauli, Dhoodh Fara, Balooshahi, Jalebis and Khurmi. Drinks like Tea (Chai) & Shikanji are very popular. A delicious brew made of small, creamy & white fruit of a local tree called Mahuwa is extensively enjoyed by the tribal and village people. Durg offers a variety of mouth –watering street–food which is affordable & is easily available. Sweets like Jalebi are worth trying.
